In my last post, I spent some time praising God for what He is doing in my current season! While I am so thankful for every detail of the here and now, I’m looking forward with great anticipation to what He has for me tomorrow! I’m so excited for the next season though I remain unsure of what that will entail! 🙂
Unfortunately, there are many times when impatience gets the best of me! It’s not impatience that stems from not enjoying today but rather an impatience fueled by the knowledge that God has something beautiful waiting! The more He shows me in His Word, the more He teaches me (even when it’s the same lesson OVER and OVER) :), and the more Faithful I find Him, the more I can’t wait for the next season!
Life as I knew it 1 year ago was so different, and I could never have imagined He would’ve worked things the way He has! God is doing and changing so much! Some of the changes have been painful, but all have been profitable for my good and His glory!
But even today as I’m praying and seeking about which direction He would have me to go in tomorrow, there’s an anxiousness in my heart! Walking down a path when you can’t see what’s around the bend is a little scary! However, I can rest in my Lord! One of my favorite quotes sums it up wonderfully, “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a KNOWN God!” Though my future is unknown, my God is definitely KNOWN!
This verse has been on my heart since this afternoon, “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” Psalms 32:8 I have His promise that He WILL give the guidance I long for! 🙂 The Lord doesn’t say He “might” or He’ll “think about it” He says He “WILL!”
The most exciting thing about my tomorrow is that my Jesus is already there! My Gentle Shepherd promised in John 10:4 that “when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them!” While I can’t see around the next curve, He already knows what is waiting at the end of the journey!
My God has good things in store, and I can’t wait! 🙂
