The Guarantees of Scripture

5 Apr

It’s been said that good things come in small packages.

And such is true when it comes to the tiny little word, shall.

He lovingly placed it throughout His Word especially for the times when nothing in our lives seems certain.

Times when we begin to doubt our effectiveness in ministry,

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9

Times when we wonder if we’ll ever make it out of our current season and into the one we desperately long for,

“Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Proverbs 37:4

Times when Satan places seeds of doubt in our hearts about our salvation, reminding us of how unworthy we are,

“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” John 10:28

Times when our hearts grow homesick for Heaven and long for loved ones who have gone on before,

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:”

1 Thessalonians 4:16

Times when the trial is painful and we cannot see the profit,

“But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job 23:10

Times when we worry over things we have no control over in the first place,

“For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.”  Proverbs 3:26

Times when we don’t have the energy to fight any more,

“The Lord shall fight for you…” Exodus 14:14

Times when we see the wicked prospering while we’re suffering,

“It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all.”

Ecclesiastes 7:18

Times when we need to be reminded that we’re not alone, that He’s there, closer than ever, that He hears the petitions we’ve poured out before him,

“Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer;..” Isaiah 58:9

Nothing makes my day like the guarantees of Scripture! 🙂

But my God SHALL supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:19

You know this promise has been very real to me in the last year.

Thanks for reminding us of all God’s great promises in His word.

    Love you
    Uncle Joe
