My Jesus, I Love Thee

10 Jun

I know Thou art mine;
For Thee all the follies of sin I resign.
My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

I love Thee because Thou has first loved me,
And purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree.
I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

I’ll love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death,
And praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath;
And say when the death dew lies cold on my brow,
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

In mansions of glory and endless delight,
I’ll ever adore Thee in heaven so bright;
I’ll sing with the glittering crown on my brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

We sang this hymn in church tonight and I thought it went along with Monday’s post about living for God’s glory. If we really love Him, we’ll live for Him!

May the words that I speak match the life that I live.  I don’t want to just say that I love Him, I want to live it out everyday! In 1 John 3:18 we are admonished, “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.”

Praying for you, friends, that you will know His love in a wonderful way! Have a great Friday!

“We love him, because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19
