Please Pray…

20 Sep

I got one of those phone calls today that all of us dread. News that my grandfather had fallen and was being transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Upon arrival to the emergency room, I found that he had broken his hip and will need surgery in the morning. This doesn’t seem so serious, but he has numerous health problems that will make this surgery and his recovery from it tougher than someone receiving this surgery that was otherwise healthy.

April2009 105I just wanted to post a request for prayer. Pray that God will strengthen his heart (he has a pacemaker) and that his blood will be thick enough for surgery but thin enough to continue passing through the arteries in his heart (they had to take him off of his blood thinner for surgery). Also that God will guide the surgeon’s hands and sustain Pop Pop through the surgery.

Though he is a quiet man of very few words, he has a testimony that speaks  louder than any number of words ever could. I am thankful for my Pop Pop’s testimony of loving His Lord without wavering though sickness and physical trials have plagued him for many years now. You will never hear him complain or use his many sicknesses for an excuse not to be in his pew when the church doors are open. Though he is my only grandfather that wasn’t called to preach, he has done much preaching with his life without standing in a pulpit. He loves His Lord, and it is evident.

Thank you for praying with me! Our God hears and answers the prayers of His people!

“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16
