His Eye is on the Sparrow…

bird_on_gold_2_xlgHe did it again! Saturday night He showed up in a ‘little’ (if you can call any of the awesome things He does little!) way that was so amazing to me! Some might call it chance, but I believe my God is in complete control of all things so therefore chance has no place in His perfect plan!

While we were in the studio recording our new CD, the Lord made Himself known! I was recording what has become my testimony song for this season of my life when He brought it to life in a new way. The song entitled “He’s Taking Care of Me” sums up what He has done (and continues to do!) over the last 6 1/2 months! The song is based out of Matthew chapter 6 and has become reality for me! He has turned my burdens into blessings! He has turned my pain into praise! Surely, I can trust Him to take care of me! Even in affliction, He is faithful (Psalm 119:75)!

The second verse begins with the line, “If He watches ore the sparrow and He clothes the earthen ground, how MUCH MORE  He loves me! What a comfort I have found!”

As I began singing this line, I glanced out the glass doors onto the patio, and it happened! A tiny bird swooped down landing on a flowerpot. It lingered, perched on the edge while I continued singing. For me it was a reminder that indeed just as my Lord has His Eye on the sparrow, He has His Eye on me along each and every step of the way!

When I finished the final chorus, my Mom said “Did you see it?” She too had witnessed God’s precious gift to me! What a good God we serve! He loves to bless His children even in ‘little’ ways that make  BIG differences in their day!

Matthew 6:26 challenges me to grasp this amazing fact, “Behold, the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” The Same God that has a Universe to tend to takes time to tend to me! He takes care of It all, but still finds time to be “very present” (Psalm 46:1) in taking care of me!

“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat: or What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?… For your Heavenly Father KNOWETH that ye have need of ALL these things!” (Matthew 6:31-32) All my worries and doubts can rest in knowing that He KNOWS! He knows what’s best and intends to take care of it in His time and in His way! 🙂

“Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father…Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29 and 31
