redorangegreenflowersIt’s been such a wonderful Lord’s Day! The Lord was so very present in every service, and it’s that word “very” that I’ve been blessed and encouraged by today! Yesterday, I was reading in my favorite Psalm and a verse jumped out at me like it never had before! Then tonight my Dad preached a wonderful message on the same topic (It was a fantastic message on God’s faithfulness!)! I love it when my God reinforces His Word for me!

“Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and VERY faithful!” Psalm 119:138

I love the descriptive words of the Word and their incredible ability to convey just how fabulous our God is! This verse tells us that His testimonies aren’t just faithful, but that they are “VERY faithful!” Isn’t God good? 🙂 Being faithful was wonderful, but our God doesn’t stop at wonderful! It’s just like Him to take it a few steps further! Remember Eph. 3:20? “…Exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think…” That’s how our God likes to work!

The word faithful in this verse means ‘literally firmness; figuratively security; morally fidelity’ God’s Word is very firm! It doesn’t change unlike our ever changing world! It’s the only Source of Truth in a world full of deceit! It is our only Security in circumstances that are much less than secure!

The Psalmist could describe the Word as being “VERY faithful”  because the Word is God Himself! “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God!” John 1:1 Remember that manger in a Bethlehem stable, the Word found rest upon the hay it held! What a blessed thought, “The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us!” John 1:14

May you find God’s Word to be exactly what It is in your life today for the Word and the God who gave it are both “VERY faithful!”
